About Alpinex
Alpinex AG is a financial intermediary based in Zurich and advises medium-sized Swiss companies on all topics relating to FX strategy and international payment transactions.

We are a partner independent of the bank. Our clients appreciate the competitive exchange rates, personal advice and direct access to a currency expert. We know you and your company and build a long-term partnership together.

Julien Savioz, Founder of Alpinex

“I founded Alpinex because I am convinced that many Swiss companies leave too much to chance when managing their currency risks — often due to lack of time, sometimes due to a lack of suitable solutions.

What drives me is the direct exchange with entrepreneurs and CFOs. For me, sitting around a table together, making complex topics tangible and deriving clear action steps from them — that is the core of successful cooperation.

With Alpinex, I combine my experience with the desire to make things simpler, easier to understand and more effective. We work closely with our customers — personally and on equal footing.

If you feel that there is more to your currency strategy — let's talk.”

Frequently asked questions

Are my funds safe?
All customer funds are held in segregated accounts with systemically important banks with excellent credit ratings. This protects your funds — even in the event of a bankruptcy of Alpinex AG.
How does Alpinex earn money?
Alpinex generates income through margins on foreign exchange rates, in a few cases also by charging periodic account management fees and/or payment transaction charges.
What down payment do I have to pay for forward transactions?
In most cases, no down payment (initial margin) is required. The prerequisite for this is typically that equity is positive and that no negative results have been achieved in the last two years.
Is Alpinex taking the opposite position to my transactions?
No. All transactions are negotiated back-to-back — anything else would be a conflict of interest. We only buy and sell currencies on behalf of our customers and do not engage in proprietary trading.
Does Alpinex support speculative foreign exchange transactions?
No. We only carry out transactions that have a commercial background.
What are the requirements for opening an account?
Four things are required to open an account: The Alpinex application form, the identity verification of the signatories, the latest annual financial statements and a current shareholder structure.
What does it cost to open or balance an account?
Both are free of charge. If you no longer want to work with us, no obstacles should be put in your way. If no transactions have been made within the first six months from account opening, we charge an inactivity fee of CHF 500.
How long does it take until my account is active?
Our onboarding process takes around 1-2 weeks with complete documents.
Does Alpinex also serve private individuals?
No. We focus exclusively on companies domiciled in Switzerland that have international business.
Starting at what currency volume does Alpinex serve customers?
Experience has shown that cooperation with an annual currency volume of at least CHF 5 million makes sense.
